Switching blogs...

Well, some of my longer listeners may have noticed that my old blog on Blog Harbor has been gone for several months. Basically, I was hiking across England this summer and have been away from my podcast and computer for quite a few weeks.

I am starting a podcast series on bible errancy, and hope to go into other issues in the near future.

How far should we promote atheism?

If atheism is the most rationale belief system, does this mean we should try to impose our belief structure on others? It is easily apparent that atheism is constantly under fire from religious groups. These same religious groups will go to any length to promote themselves.

If we believe atheism to be the best belief structure, shouldn't we have the courage of our convictions and try to spread skepticism/atheism as much as possible?

If the answer is "yes", how far do we carry the battle? Propaganda techniques are far more refined than they were a 100 years ago. You can see how political and religious groups have used a variety of "unethical" techniques to spread themselves. Should we utilize a total war technique? Do the ends justify the means?

What methods should we use to spread rationale thought? Podcasting is a new method/techology used to spread information. I have found no podcasts on rational thought, yet many religious sermons. Atheism is usually directly linked with science, yet religious groups are utilizing technology faster than us to spread themselves. Religous groups are willing to utilize the benefits of technology while concurrently fighting science. Atheists need to be more outspoken and need to start being more aggressive in their use of technology.
